‘Mein Abdul Qadir Hun’

5 فروری، 2011

‘Mein Abdul Qadir Hun’ is a recent hit song from a Hum Television drama serial of the same title. Nowadays this song is gaining huge popularity not only among the regular drama viewers but also Pakistani youth have been attracted to it a great deal. A lot of credit of this popularity goes to the song which has been sung by a young promising vocalist and musician named Ifti. The lyrics of the song beautifully explore all the confusions related to identity and spiritual self which young minds may confront with at certain point of time in their lives. The song has brilliant musical modes which fuse together and leave a very thought provoking impact on the listener. Sometimes the key note in the lyrics ‘Mein Abdul Qadir Hun’ sounds bit stuffed and heavy in comparison with the whole score and it seems the rhythm has been compromised for it but it also leaves a unique impression which adds to its meaning and somehow this issue has been beautifully dealt with to keep the ‘Abdul Qadir’ at the right place.
Ifti is a talented youngster who is an all-in-one musician. He composes his own music, writes the lyrics, sings, and plays the guitar. He strums the guitar in the tap-style which very few people in Pakistan do. His inspiration is the Mellow Blues with a touch of Eastern Roots. He has been playing gigs for a few years now and his first single titled ‘KHATA’, broadcasted on radio frequencies, received an overwhelming response. He has written, composed & sung the track ‘Yariyan’ for another drama serial.
